Materials Needed:
  • Large sheets of construction paper
  • Kwik Stix and Magic Stix
  • Scissors and glue
  • Summer-themed stickers (optional)
  • Printable-Handouts with reflection prompts
Lesson Plan Steps:
  1. Begin the lesson by asking students about their plans for the summer. Allow students to share their thoughts and ideas.
  2. Explain that the students will be creating a summer reflection poster. Provide each student with a large sheet of construction paper, Kwik StixMagic Stix, and any summer-themed stickers you have available.
  3. Provide handouts with reflection prompts. Click Here to download. 
  4. Allow students time to reflect on their responses to each question, and then use Magic Stix and Kwik Stix to decorate their poster with their responses. Encourage them to add any summer-themed stickers or other decorations that they like.
  5. After the posters are complete, have the students share their posters with the class, allowing them to explain what they wrote and why they chose their particular decorations.
  6. Conclude the lesson by encouraging students to take their posters home and to continue reflecting on their summer plans and the past school year.
