Letter Recognition

Materials Needed: Printed sheet with two letters and Magic Stix Markers

  1. Color code the two different letters on top of the sheet
  2. Color in the letters below with the matching color on the top

Fine Motor Skill Christmas Tree

Materials Needed: cardboard box, Kwik Stix, Q-tips, screwdriver, and scissors

  1. Flip and empty cardboard box upside down
  2. Draw a Christmas tree onto the cardboard box with Kwik Stix
  3. Cut a bunch of Q-tips in half
  4. Paint each end of the Q-tip in different colors
  5. Poke small holes into the tree using the screwdriver
  6. Place the Q-tips in the holes to light up your tree

Reindeer Tracing

Materials Needed: Half reindeer printable sheet and Kwik Stix

  1. Continue the reindeer drawing on the other side of the dotted line
  2. Use different colors of Kwik Stix to complete the drawing

Styrofoam Stamps

Materials Needed: Styrofoam, knife, paper, and Kwik Stix

  1. Cut Styrofoam into holiday shapes (stocking, Christmas tree, star, etc.)
  2. Paint with Kwik Stix
  3. Quickly press down each piece of Styrofoam (paint side down) onto the paper
  4. Lift the Styrofoam
  5. Decorate the paper with more colors and decorations

Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer

Materials Needed: cardboard box, Kwik Stix, red plastic ball, and scissors

  1. On the inside of a cardboard box, cut out a circle 
  2. Draw a reindeer around the hole in the box
  3. Place a red plastic ball in the inside of the box
  4. Hold the box, moving the red nose around and trying to get it inside Rudolf's nose

Pom Pom Color Sorting

 

Materials Needed: toilet paper roll, pom poms, Kwik Stix, scissors, and paper

  1. Draw a large Christmas tree onto a piece of paper
  2. Cut 6 toilet paper rolls in half and fill inside of the Christmas tree
  3. Inside each roll, draw a different colored dot 
  4. Use tongs to sort different colored pom poms into each roll on the tree by matching the colors

Tree Toss

 Materials Needed: large piece of cardboard, knife, balls, and Kwik Stix

  1. Cut out a large christmas tree with cardboard
  2. Paint green with Kwik Stix
  3. Cut circles out with a life
  4. Throw balls at the tree target, trying to get each ball through the hole

Tile Counting with Wonder Stix

Materials Needed: Magna Tiles, Wonder Stix, and small craft bells

  1. Lay tiles on a flat surface
  2. Use Wonder Stix to label each tile 1-15
  3. Place the number of bells onto each tile
  4. The small bells will magnetize onto each tile

Tape Resistant Snowflake

Materials Needed: canvas, painters tape or washi tape, and Kwik Stix

  1. Rip long pieces of tape
  2. Stick onto canvas 
  3. Paint around or on top of the tape with Kwik Stix
  4. Peel off tape to see a clear image of what you have created

Christmas Tree Bubble Wrap

Materials Needed: construction paper, scissors, glue, Kwik Stix, and bubble wrap
  1. Place a Christmas tree cut out on top of a plain piece of paper
  2. Paint bubble wrap with Kwik Stix
  3. Stamp onto the white part of the paper
  4. Lift bubble wrap, leaving a speckled print 
  5. Take off the Christmas tree cut out
  6. Glue the piece of white paper onto a larger colored piece of construction paper
